Deviator

I do not know if I can call it a present to humanity, but to celebrate their definitive and irreversible farewell, Deviator bless / curse mankind with a compilation, which sees the light (and darkness!) through Germany’s top-label Pesttanz Klangschmiede (about ten other releases have been reviewed recently by undersigned, and have been posted in July, August or September; check the site and find out what qualitative material Pesttanz have to offer…).

Draugûl

One year after the debut full length The Voyager, Draugûl return with the sophomore full length, once again released under the banner of the great Pesttanz-roster. The review on the debut, by the way, was posted recently on the site; check the update on September 21st 2014.

Draugûl

Being a ‘fan’ of the Black Metal scene since the end of the eighties, I came along a handful of mostly interesting bands or projects from Malta, a small island in the Mediterranean sea, in between Italy and Africa – think: Martyrium (Draugûl-frontman Vargblod used to be in this great act for a couple of years, by the way), Apotheosis, Sahhar or Sandmist.

Antiquus Scriptum

After he left Firstborn Evil at the end of last century, Jorge ‘Sacerdos Magus’ Magalhães formed Antiquus Scriptum. He had some ideas for quite some time that didn’t quite fit to the style of Firstborn Evil, so he took the decision to leave in 1998 and start his own (solo) project. After the recording of some demos, he signed to Ophiucus Records to release the Antiquus Scriptum-debut Abi In Malam Pestem in 2002.

Terdor

Terdor are a Dutch act, consisting of vocalist (and poet / lyricist) Lafawijn, and multi-instrumentalist, mixer, master, producer and music writer Elshschappij Tovenaere. Seen the title of this album, you might expect a first part as well (which actually was released in 2011), but Terdor debuted (at least when talking about full length studio material) in 2008 with Axis Panzerzug Anno November 1942 (and before there were a split with Gheestenland and an EP).

Sieghetnar

There are two Sieghetnar-re-issues that recently came my way, i.e. the partly re-recorded 2008-demo Endlösung (this version came via Kunsthauch), of which the review was posted very recently on this site (see update July 20th 2014), and this review will deal with the re-release of this project’s third full length, Bewußtseinserweiterung (after Verfallen & Verendet and Todessehnsucht).

Feskarn

On July 20th 2014, Concreteweb posted the review of the new Feskarn-album, Östra Aros. Since Pesttanz Klangschmiede did send us the debut album Raise Your Swords as well, I will give a (small) review too on this material.

Feskarn

Feskarn are a project by Niklas Larsson, originating from Uppsala, Sweden, and formed in 2010. The guy released a first album in 2012, called Raise Your Sword. Since Pesttanz Klangschmiede were so kind to send that album together with this new one, I will write a review on that debut very soon; just watch out.

Sahsnotas

I do not know whether Sahsnotas can be considered a Permafrost-side project, but fact is that both combos share a member. Anyway, under the Sahsnotas-moniker, there were two self-released demonstrational recordings at the very beginning of this century, called Creator Of Chaos and Kriegerblut, spawn onto the world in respectively 2000 and 2001. Both of them are compiled under command of the first demo’s title, Creator Of Chaos, after being digitally re-mastered, and with new artwork. Reason?

Antiquus Scriptum

Antiquus Scriptum were formed at the end of last century by Jorge ‘Sacerdos Magus’ Magalhães, after he left Firstborn Evil. He had some ideas for quite some time that didn’t quite fit to the style of Firstborn Evil, so he took the decision to leave in 1998 and start his own (solo) project.
