Lynyrd Skynyrd

Lynyrd Skynyrd travelled back to their hometown of Jacksonville – Florida, where two nights in a row they performed in their entirety their first two albums ‘Pronounced ‘Léh-‘Nérd ‘Skin-‘Nérd’ and ‘Second Helping’.  This concert was done at the historic Florida Theatre.

This DVD was filmed over those two days, and shows us a band in a very good form, performing in front of an enthousiastic crowd, hell, it’s hard to say who enjoyed these shows the best, the band, or the public.

Aerosmith

This DVD brings us a recording of Aerosmith’s show at 2014’s Donnington festival.    To be honest, I found it disappointing, and I’ll explain why.

36 Crazyfists

The four-piece Alaskan metal band is back. They released a new album last month entitled “Time And Trauma”. The band members actually originated from the remains of three local bands: Grin, Hessian, and Broke. JD Stuart played in Grin, Brock Lindow in Hessian, and Steve Holt and Ryan Brownell in Broke.

The Neal Morse Band

This is the first studio album from the Neal Morse Band since 2012, which does not mean Mr. Morse hadn’t been busy in the mean time, because he’s released an album with Transatlantic, an album with Flying colours and also his own album ‘Songs From November’.

And what does this prog master have I petto for us on this album ?  Well, to sum it up, only five  songs, although it must be said one of the songs is over 26 minutes long,  It also  contains the ubiquitous ballad, and two short, heavier songs.

Lonely Robot

Lonely Robot is not a band, but a project by guitarist/singer/songwriter John Mitchell, best known a being long time guitarist for British progressive rockers Arena

Toundra

Despite the fact that this is already their fourth album, I had never heard of this band before.  They come from Madrid – Spain.  It seems they have a fan base in Spain, and they have played most, if not all of the major Spanish festivals.

Steve Rothery

Steve Rothery is the guitarist, and longest running member of the band Marillion.  This is his first solo-effort, despite being active in the music business for over thirty years (he started in Marillion in 1979).

Cloudkicker

Since 2008, a Columbus based musician known only as Cloudkicker has been releasing instrumental Post-Rock/ Prog Rock-Metal material (2008's The Discovery and The Map Is Not The Territory; 2009's Portmanteau; 2010's Beacons and ]]][[[; 2011's Let Yourself Be Huge and Loop; 2012's Fade, and 2013's Subsume – some of which were EP's, others full-lengths) which he made available for free download through the internet.

Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz is a Finnish modern hard rock band formed on the hot summer of 2007 in Helsinki by Archie Kuosmanen and Johnny Parkkonen. With the mutualaspiration of playing their rear ends off and kicking people's derrieres the two teens shared the same goals and similar same passion for a band to be. Inspired by greats as Skid Row and Guns N' Roses, the name Santa Cruz was chosen as the title of their vision of a perfect hard rock band. In the beginning of the following year, Middy Toivonen joined in to play the bass.
