The Greek band Enshadowed was formed about fifteen years ago and did release a handful of recordings before, mainly through Black Lotus. This new full length was recorded with Septic Flesh’s Fotis Bernardo at Devasoundz Studio, and indeed the production is rather clean yet not too clinical.

Those who know the band’s Black Metal won’t be surprised. Magic Chaos Psychedelica brings the kind of stuff that reminds me especially to the traditional Swedish scene, flavoured with elements from the Polish, Italian and, of course, the Greek one as well. The better part of the tracks if fast, rhythmic and melodic, with a prominent hint of Post-Black / Death elements. Behemoth meet Dark Funeral meet Belphegor, if you want to. In comparison to the past, the whole has evolved into a more coherent totality, yet I do miss that something extra to blow me away. But since Enshadowed are known for decent yet powerful material, fans won’t be disappointed at all.
