Lacrimas Profundere from Germany are back with a new release on Napalm Records, called Antiadore, which has a total running time of forty five minutes. And I’ll be honest: I’ve never been a huge amateur of this band. This album won’t change my opinion. For the better part, Antiadore goes on in the vein of some of the latest records like Songs For The Last View or The Grandiose Nowhere. It’s a catchy and sometimes even poppy mélange of Dark and Gothic Metal, with lots of symphonic and electronic elements, and even a couple of bombastic-symphonic additions. Yes, Antiadore breathes energy and stimulates the neck muscles from time to time; but it’s way too polished and clinical. Melancholy and heaviness could turn into a sweet symbiosis, but unfortunately ‘sweetness’ right here stands for infantility. Sad!
