Quintet Liber Necris were formed in 2010 in Leeds, U.K., and they debuted in December 2011 with the EP The Immutable Aversion, which was self-released, and entirely produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by the famous Wieslawski-brothers Wojtek and Slawek (think: Behemoth, Sideblast, Vader, Unearthly, Hate etc.). Their new EP, Negative Creator, is a concept about the influence of the sickness called Humanity on the destruction of our Mater Terra. It was done this time at Silent City with Rob Hobson behind the knobby desk.

Negative Creator has duration of seventeen minutes and brings four tracks in the very same vein. It’s an amalgam of blast beats, guttural grunts, artillery sonics and grinding madness in one. This is the kind of Grindcore-edged Modern Death Metal that is both sickening and healing. But it certainly is of the most blackened kind, for the major part of the rhythm section structures and lead guitar riffs are truly exhaling a specific atmosphere the European scene is known for. One of the positive elements is the limited yet well-constructed variation in speed, and the equilibrium in between the vocal efforts (shrieks versus grunts) is a surplus as well. And as a matter of fact, this EP will be positively accepted by everyone who likes everything that reeks of thrashing Death / Black Metal.
