Silent Voices is a Finnish band that I’d never heard of before.  Yet so far they have already released 3 albums since 2002, but since their 2006 album ‘Building Up the Apathy’ it had become quite silent, as if they went in wintersleep.  On top of that they lost their vocalist Michael Henneken (Sentiment, Adamantia).

But the band overcame all troubles, and hey presto, now pleasure the world with their fourth studio album ‘Reveal The Change’.  They even found a new vocalist Teemu Koskela but for this fourth album they had a score of guest vocalist, and not of the least : Mats Levén (ex Therion, Yngwie Malmsteen), Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica), Mike DiMeo (ex Masterplan, Riot), Mike Vescera (ex Loudnes, Yngwie Malmsteen, Obsession).

Not knowing the band, listening to this album was a very pleasant surprise.  Very good and fresh sounding prog metal, brought by a score of fine vocalists.  Weakest of them is Tony Kakko, but maybe that is because the song doesn’t suit his voice that well.
