While hardly the most original band in the world, they treat the listener with slow and mid tempo doom and epic metal. The riffing and vocal melodies show the unmistakable influence of Solitude Aeturnus, Candlemass, Warning,…but the production could be punched up a little bit. The vocals fit the gloomy music very well, but next time he has to put more emotion and power into his singing lines. The band sounds tight and tends to work in the service of the songs rather than to showing off their technical chops.
Wolfen is yet another one of those heavy power teutonic metal bands that is neither great nor terrible.
Assembled by members of Rose Room Swing, Wheel of Smoke, Knelpunt, the Belgian Rivercrest play a difficult to describe variety of music, from Can styled krautrock, to Sun Ra Arkestra and free jazz, and on to crashing space rock that recalls bands like Gong and early Hawkwind..
I don't know what has happened to Gaskin.
An album like End of the World was a goodie, but all of the following albums had not been bad, but lacking power! At the roots, this is a classic NWOBHM-album, however, the heaviness has been downed a notch or two, and the vocals are in a clean, almost infantile Ozzy-ish vein. Depending on how you look at it, you could say it's AOR with a NWOBHM edge, or Heavy Metal with a scoop o' stinking cheese. The final outcome is a seemingly unfocused album that just doesn't gel.

Although Return is Paul Hayles first solo album, the UK keyboard player is most widely known for his mid seventies membership of Hawkwind . The sonic assassins included on Lastwind are bassist Hugo Morgan (The Heads), drummer Ken Pustelnik (The Groundhogs), guitarists Latch Manghat and Sol Latif.
Have you ever wondered what an album would sound like if nu-metal, emo, industrial, pop and shitty hip hop would sound like if they were all combined? For those of you who haven’t and don’t care. Well good for you because you’re spared from this waste of disc space. To anyone who doesn't have an interest in this genre (e.g me) it's really a chore to listen to, and to anyone who actually does like this sort of music I'm sure there is better stuff out there.
For those of you that don't have a clue, BOTS is made up of Henry Vazquez from Saint Vitus, Dave Gryder from Storm at Sunrise, Tony Reed from Mos Generator, John O’ Daniel and Rusty Burns from southern legend Point Blank.
