Billy Talent

It's been ten years since the Canadian punk rockers in Billy Talent released their self-titled debut album. In 2013, they will rerelease the album, but containing two discs. On the first one, you will find the entire first record and on the second disc you will find the bonus material: some demo versions of real Billy Talent classics, an acoustic song and some live songs.

The Dillinger Escape Plan

The Dillinger Escape Plan is a band which you love or hate, there's no in-between. The ones who love it are usually into the mathcore genre and the ones who hate it just think it's noise. No matter what side you're on, their records always raise voices and they always give us something to talk about, which is also the case with their brand new studio album.

We Came As Romans

A few years ago, a brand new band popped up amongst so many other acts who sounded just the same. Very quickly, one band really stood out and that was the American metalcore band We Came As Romans.

Left For Dead

Canadian power violence and hardcore act Left For Dead has only been around for two brutal years, but really made an impact on the hardcore scene. In January 2012, they played their first shows again after more than seventeen years. In conjunction with that reunion, A389 Recordings released a Left For Dead discography, called Devoid Of Everything. The album contains all material the band ever wrote.

Deadlock

Sometimes everything goes the way you want, but at other times, it just seems like the world turns its back on you. That last thing happened to the German Deadlock when their grunter left the band after the release of Bizzaro World. The departure of Johannes Prem left a sour taste as he was the original singer before Sabine Scherer joined the band and he formed the foundation for the typical Deadlock sound.

Perikato

The biggest challenge while writing this review is writing it while listening to the new EP by the Finnish Perikato, as their new album, Kovat Ajat, lasts just a bit more than six minutes.
Kovat Ajat is already their third record and it sounds like banging your head against the wall non-stop. The music goes way too fast and is not even enjoyable to listen to.

GrandExit

GrandExit has a new record and that is something to be overjoyed with. The new one is entitled The Dead Justifies The Means and is full of memorable guitar parts and an impressive song structure. The band, previously known as Vicious, pounds through the album and quickly tries to settle in your ears. This is the first impression you get when starting to listen to the record.

Counterparts

There are little rules in hardcore, but the only thing that applies for all hardcore bands, is the fact that the music is always straight-forward. The Canadian Counterparts is an exception to that rule.
The Difference Between Hell And Home is their third album and their second for Victory Records. Counterparts stands for melodic hardcore with once in a while a slight reference to the progressive genre as used by bands like Misery Signals.

Erimha

With the signing of the Canadian Erimha, Victory Records has proven once again that they aren't narrow-minded at all. We know the label of hardcore, punk, screamo and emo bands, but Reign Through Immortality, is a real metal record that stands somewhere between black metal and death metal. The most remarkable thing about it is its production. For a new band, every detail sounds crystal clear, lifting the album to a higher level.
