When I saw Trent Reznor featured as one of the musicians in this band/project, I expected some rock music. Nest to Mr. Reznor feature his wife Mariqueen Maandig and another musician known from Nine Inch Nails, Mr. Atticus Ross. Final ‘member’ is visual artist Rob Sheridan.
Despite not being a NIN fan, I don’t even have a CD from them in my collection, my disappointment couldn’t have been greater. This album has nothing to do with rock music. It’s electronic music.
Not that I don’t like electronic music, I liked bands like Front 242 back in their early days, and even some songs by Kraftwerk are appreciated by me, but what this album brings us is bad. It’s not the type of music you’d listen to when you want to relax, but neither is it music you can dance on.
Rock lovers, stay well away from this album. This is an album that as a matter of fact shouldn’t even be reviewed for Concrete Web if you ask me.
