From The Vastland

Well, the joy of ‘excitement’ and ‘happiness’ is a rare and specific experience to me, but when Mister Sina Winter let me know that a new From The Vastland album was about to be released, I went through those strange stages of emotion, of arousal, and of impatience. …so glad I did put my concerns about affective sensation and vivid ebullience aside, because I have always been sort of a ‘fan’ of what From The Vastland did came with before. Check out, beneath, some more (links to) reviews I did for this combo in the past.

Ditch State

Since this review deals with a re-release, I will keep it concise, but still it is of unchallengeable importance to focus on the majestic result behind this sonic expedition.

As armies march and tanks rumble, The satisfied slaved stumble forward towards self-extinction. In despair, the powerless see the world crumble in the steps of the self-righteous. Bombs keep falling. With this happy message, Swedish troopers Ditch State announce their purpose to cleanse and purify…

Sophia

I am sure that many human beings did look forward to this release: the newest effort by Swedish project Sophia. It’s a ‘product’ from the almighty Cold Meat Industry family, and related to Cyclic Law for some time as well.

Atra Vetosus

I have never hidden my appreciation for the Tasmanian outfit Atra Vetosus, which might be one of my favorite acts on the great Flemish label Immortal Frost Productions. For more than one decade, both parties have been working together, with always a satisfying result in mind.

Dark Fury

ashes to ashes, dust to dust…

As mentioned in previous reviews, Concreteweb is a channel to promote and support (anti-commercial) Music that dwells in spheres of Aural Underground Art. Sonic Supremacy for the Elite, you see… It is not a page to discuss political, ideological, religious, societal or ethic subjects. We all know that our planet is sick – ruined by the human kind – and this trespasses questions about good and evil, or about tolerance versus extremist opinions of any scope. This said…

Ars Veneficium

Finally, after four and a half years…

I will keep my introduction short and concise, and I’d like to refer to one of the other reviews I did in the past for Ars Veneficium, one of the leading Belgian bands within the current Black Metal scene. Links: see below.

MNHG

The German rulers MNHG return with their second album, about three years after their fine debut Mundare (link for the review: see below). Like the debut, this one gets unleashed via Belgium’s premium Black Metal label Immortal Frost Productions, and it’s quite evident that it gets released on compact-disc (including a twenty-page booklet; 500 copies), and on vinyl in two different editions / colors (250 copies, with a poster and a lyric sheet included).

Pyra

Purification through fire! Rebirth through flames!

For an introduction on this Italian act (like ‘formed in 2020 as a duo’, and that kind of interesting stuff), I’d like to refer to my review on this band’s debut-EP, ingeniously called Pyra (link: see below).
