This package brings you a recording of a 2010 gig in Basel – Switzerland, to support their ‘Omega’ album. It features the band in it’s original line-up of John Wetton, Steve Howe, Geoff Downes and finally Carl Palmer. I haven’t received the DVD, but as it seems this show was recorded with 18 cameras shooting in HD, I guess the quality must be good. The set list is a combination of their classics, and songs from their first two reunion albums ‘Phoenix’ and ‘Omega’. These guys of course are very good musicians, that doesn’t need to be repeated, but this live recording sounds a bit sterile to me, by which I mean it all sounds as if it has been premeditated, leaving little or no room for improvisation. I’m very sure if you’re an Asia fan you will appreciate this record, but I never was that big into Asia. They do have some quite good songs, but I prefer the studio version over the live version.
