I don’t know for certain, but is it normal for a band whose members have been together for 15 years already, to wait that long to release a debut album ?  Originally these guys started under the name of No Brakes and played on some festivals, but at a certain moment they changed their name to Benesser.  They hail from Sweden, and according to the leaflet that accompanied the album, their music should appeal to people liking bands like Muse, Coldplay, Rush, and a few other bands.

It’s for certain that fans of Muse or Coldplay, might like this album.  Being a fan of Rush however, I don’t see why this should appeal to me.  The only comparison I can make between these two bands however, is that they’re both trios, but musically they are worlds apart.

It’s true they create a lot of atmosphere in their music, just like Muse does on some songs, but Benesser’s music is not something I would dare to call hard rock. It’s rock, that’s for sure, but there it ends.  There is some nice guitar work on this album though, but it’s not really my cup of tea.
