Once I started to listen to this album, I could tell there was some talent here. There are tendencies to Colour Haze-like jam a little as well as softer Floydian-moments. The band always plays as a unit, never allowing the solos to become grandiose or detract from the song as a whole. Buddha Sentenza are brimming with musical ability and SWLVR provide a platform on which to display these talents. It’s a glorious amalgam of thunderous drumming, savage guitar solo, staggering keyboards which adds up to an abundance of grandiose musical passages The record flows very well and the variety between the songs keeps it from ever becoming a chore to listen to. Despite all the excellent moments on SWLVR one also gets the distinct impression this is a band in progress and should only get better from this point on.
A good instrumental space stoner album, quite pleasing on the first listening and gets better the more you listen to it. Well worth a look.
