Athens based Sleaze/ Glam Metal act Cyanide 4 have been at it for quite a while now, having been founded in 2008, same year as in which G.A. Sinn (lead vocals & rhythm guitar), Johxnyy Slut (lead guitar), Nasty George (bass) and Alex Rated (drums) released their debut demo Complex.

The year following, the band already found one of their songs featured on a compilation album entitled Glamnation, and in early 2010 the guys scored a deal with American label Demon Doll Records for the Summer 2010 release of their official debut EP Critical Mental Erosion (5 tracks mixed by Ryan Greene of Megadeth, Alice Cooper, Lita Ford, Mr. Big and NOFX repute, to name but sóme of the bands he worked with). 2011 followed with a contribution to Street Symphonies Records' compilation album Reborn In Sleaze: A Tribute To Dave Lepard, and all the while the band was preparing for its full-length debut, which was again mixed by Ryan Greene. Along the way, the guys finished their first music clip, for the new album's track “Live The Life”. Also along the way, the band gained quite a reputation on Greece's stages, playing support to the likes of Lizzy Borden, Crashdiet, W.A.S.P., and Scorpions (twice, the last time during Scorpions' passage through Greece on their 2010 farewell tour), and the guys have also performed on Radio Arvyla's TV show. No wonder they're labeled as the most promising Sleaze band of Greece!

At least two of the EP's songs (namely “F.F.L.” and the album closing “Midnight Heat” - not having found a track-list of the EP, I cannot say whether móre tracks were culled from it), but perhaps that's not so surprising in these crisis-torn days. And, after all, the EP was probably a somewhat limited affair to start with. Stylistically, expect a strongly '80s Los Angeles Glam, in which the members also bring their own personal elements (bands they also admire being Metallica, Misfits, Panx Romana, the NWoBHM, and the New Rock 'n' Roll stylings from the Scandinavian peninsula). At least, two guitars being present gives an honest idea of what the band sounds like in live conditions, and it has to be said that the lead guitarists plays some mean licks. Also, the band understands that, in order to attract a broader audience, you need to bring subtle differences in your songs, occasionally play somewhat calmer, almost ballad-like. For a taster, check out the band's pages at facebook (4 videos available as well as a link to bandcamp.com, with a 4:54 sample of the album) and MySpace (the same album sampler as mentioned above, and full-length versions of 5 of the album's 13 songs). Definitely one of the better bands in that 5-album package I got from Perris!
