My Soliloquy is a British band formed in 2002 by multi-instrumentalist Pete Morten. Since then the band has released a number of demos, gaining traction in the metal underground. The band had a number of notable support shows for Pagans Mind and Threshold. Since 2007, Morten has been an active member of British prog metal legends Threshold. His membership had raised awareness for My Soliloquy’s long awaited debut.

The My Soliloquy sound has often reminded of a blend of Threshold and Queensryche. That latter feature may simply come from the feeling that Morten sounds like a cross pollination of Geoff Tate, with a little of Tobias Sammet and Lance King. “The Interpreter”, if only for the simple fact that we get, finally, a complete collection of his fine music.

Perhaps the only thing that would have made this album better was a few more new songs rather than a repetition of the past. Conversely, since those songs probably did not get their proper amount of audience in the first place, it's good that they're included here.
