This is the first full cd release from Purson who hails from UK, and is one of the best and most original contemporary occult female fronted folk psych/prog bands of recent years.

This is an album to get into over repeated listening. It isn’t a crawling inside your brain psychedelic freak out, but the melodies, voices, harmonies and colours & lights will get to you in the end. From the vocal structures to some of the more psychedelic elements there is a lot of influences from The Beatles, Bowie, Coven, White Noise and Necromandus in their music, but with more of a punch. The album has such warmth and a wealth of very good songs that one cannot help but be moved by its brilliance and stirring poetically direct sentiments. For sheer wistful and melancholic beauty I would direct any listener to their intro “Wake up sleepy head”, “Sailor’s wife’s lament”, “Tempest and tide”, and “Tragic catasrophe”. For more up-tempo and firey I would recommend “Mavericks and mystics”, “The contract”, “Rocking horse” and “Sapphire ward”. The prog influences are brought more sharply into focus on “Spiderwood farm” and “Leaning on a bear”.

With such a strong first release, I'm very interested to see where this band goes from here. O yes, did I tell you Rosie is the most stunning front singer/guitarist lady I’ve ever seen on a stage.
