Oh my God.  Have thirty years really passed since the original release of ‘Texas Flood’?  Yes sir, there’s no denying that, and my wrinkles and receding hair line are there to prove it.

Now I occasionally like my portion of blues-rock, but at the time the original album was released, I was only interested in heavy metal or hard rock, so while I did listen to this album once in a while, it was not an album that I played a lot.

But with the passing of the years, my musical horizon has widened quite a lot  And blues, or blues rock, still might not be highest on my wish list, but I’ve learned to like it more than before.

And one cannot deny that Stevie Ray Vaughan was a guitar wizard, who died much too young in that tragic helicopter accident. What makes this edition special is that it not only contains the original album, with one bonus track added, but also a second disc, that contains a set recorded live on October 20, 1983 at Ripleys Music Hall in Philadelphia.
