It’s been a while since Whitesnake have released a new album, yet here it is, albeit not with brand new songs, but with songs from Deep Purple Mark 3 and 4. It might have escaped you, but for a while David Coverdale has been part of that band, between August 1973 and March 1976.
Is David Coverdale in need of some money, or is Frontiers Records running out of new bands I don’t know, but this is the umpteenth live album from this band that is released the last years.
Of course it’s true that 2014 marks the 30th Anniversary of the ‘Slide It In’ album, which is the first album they received multiple Platinum for. But we’ve heard all these songs before, and most of them feature on one – or another – live album from this band.
Forgive me this remark, but I think in this case Frontiers Records are really milking the cow dry so to speak. Shortly after releasing the live album ‘Made In Japan’, they’re now releasing yet another live album ‘Made In Britain’. And to make matters worse these recordings stem from the same tour as the ‘Made In Japan’ album.
So does it add something to Whitesnake’s repertorium? I’m not sure, but I’ve got the slight impression that the songs on this album have just a tad more energy than those on the ‘Made In Japan’ album.

Originally this recording was only recorded for Japanese TV. It’s the performance Whitesnake gave during the LOUD PARK festival on October 15th at Saitame Super Arena. When some songs were broadcasted on a Loud Park Highlights program in Japan, many people saw this, and requests were made for general release of this performance.
