A new label curated by Raffaele Pezzella, that does not sound bad at all, does it.

In my introduction for Sonologyst’s Silencers (The Conspiracy Theory Dossiers) (link below), I had a brief yet fitting description on this project and its frontman, Raffaele Pezzella, who also runs the labels Unexplained Sounds Group and Eighth Tower Records, besides The Recognition Test (radio show). Throughout all of these activities, there’s one general thing that repeats itself: the story of experimental sound-creation and sonic experimentalism.
After two albums that were released via Cephalopagus Records, Portuguese one-man army Sílení signed to Eighth Tower Records (creating superspectrum sounds from ultraterrestrial dimensions), run by Sonologyst’s Raffaele Pezzella, to have this next album released.
One of the first reviews, maybe the first, that I did for Eighth Tower Records (a strongly upcoming label run by Sonologyst’s Raffaele) was The Cave Of Metaphysical Darkness & Lights (http://www.concreteweb.be/reviews/moloch-conspiracy), released one year ago. And now the label and the project joined forces once more for the release of Baclou, an eight-track registration that clocks over fifty minutes.
It is always a great thing to get confronted with new material on Eighth Tower Records, for this Italian label, part of the Unexplained Sounds Group family, did release some excellent stuff in the past. This time the release deals with a four-way partnership, which includes at least one project that I deeply adore – and now, after a couple of listens, that number did increase up to four!
Iran… Known for its repressive government, Shiite-religious fundamentalism, millennia-old Persian civilization (more than 2,500 years of culture, including a huge heritage of historical remnants – praise and respect!), beautiful women (these women have the most beautiful eyes in the world), tasteful ab kusht, even a successful wrestling team and a fabulous, undeniably attractive anti-appreciation for our Earth’s newest Caesar, Mister Donald T... But when it comes to Music, well, that might seem quite limited, even narrow-minded, in our western countries.
Not that long ago, I came in touch with Raffaele Pezzella, a Naples-born artist who is even older than I am (two years and a handful of days more of age). In his late twenties, Raffaele started experimenting more actively as sound artist, and especially electronic research, as well as some guitar-based improvisation, became his main topics. His first steps into sonic areas also concerned mastering and mixing duties for other artists all over the globe.
We must ponder, cogitate, muse on the dual ideas on truth. ‘Which choice holds the right opinion?’ Are we able to think for ourselves, to make our own choices based on what we think that is right or wrong? Are our thoughts and ideas constructed in our Inner Self as being part of a greater concept? Is having an opposite opinion good or wrong? And what is a good or wrong opinion on certain matters? ‘Differences of opinion do not make anyone heretical or orthodox.
Some weeks ago, I came in touch with the very sympathetic Italian guy Raffaele Pezzella, who’s the very same guy behind the great project Sonologyst. In a (near) future, I will write and publish a review on their latest album Silencers, by the way, which is available via Cold Spring Records as from yesterday.
