The Last Vegas

Despite their name, this band does not originate from the Sin City, but have their roots in Chicago, and this is their first full-length album recorded in their native town.  The band was formed in 2005, and some time later Môtley Crûe bassist Nikki Six grew interested in them, and gave them the opportunity to release an album on his own label.

Axehammer

After seven years of silence, Axehammer have finally released their second full- length called “Marching On”. This album was produced by Bill Metoyer, whose privilege was to record classics such as Slayer, Sacred Reich, Flotsam And Jetsam end Fates Warning.

Disarm Goliath

Disarm Goliath is a band from England, who released their first full-length-album “Only The Devil Can Stop Us” in 1999. At the beginning of this year they released their second album “Born To Rule” on their own private label. Now Pure Steel Records have decided to make a vinyl-edition of this heavy metal album.

In Aevum Agere

While hardly the most original band in the world, In Aevum Agere treats the listener with slow and mid tempo doom and epic metal. The riffing and vocal melodies show the unmistakable influence of Solitude Aeturnus, Candlemass, Warning,…but the production could be punched up a little bit. The vocals fit the gloomy music very well, but next time he has to put more emotion and power into his singing lines. The band sounds tight and tends to work in the service of the songs rather than to showing off their technical chops.

Knight Fury

Knight Fury is not a normal band from the US, it’s a real super-group from Arizona. The members of this band are well established in the US-scene like Chris Sanders on guitars (ex- Lizzy Borden). Dave Ellefson on bass and Ken Mary on drums may be known to metal-fans as (former) musicians in bands like Megadeth and Alice Cooper.

Power Theory

With An Ax To Grind the second album of this quartet from Pennsylvania is ready. It’s only been 12 months since they re-released their debut-album Out Of Ashes, Into The Fire… And Other Tales Of Insanity. Power Theory is an band who’s playing rocking metal with certain Saxon- influences, while the raw vocals remind mor on ex Metal- Church- frontman David Wayne.

Classic metal- riffing and nice twin- leads are combined with thrashy elements. Some highlights on the record are “Pure Steel” with its midtempo groove.
