Cain

Cain were based in Minnesota and those who already are familiar with Cain’s first legendary hard rock album will be pleased with 1977’s Stinger as well. Though the slick blend of driving hard-rock, smooth balladry and progressive textures can get on your nerves too.

Stepson

This CD is from the mastertape recorded in 1972/1974 which seemed to be lost. This quartet are clearly influenced by hard rock’s illustrious past, cuz there are faint echoes of Led Zeppelin, Cactus, Grand Funk, Leafhound and Bloodrock. Although Stepson are, at least on the surface, an easily familiar commonplace hard rock band, there is something absolutely intriguing and hypnotizing about their stab at bluesy hard rock music.

Sainte Anthony’s Fyre

Sainte Anthony’s Fyre is a slab of molten Blue Cheer, Grand Funk and Jimi Hendrix inspired psychedelic bluesy, blistering rock. Each track roars or thunders off this disc, streaming off Gregg Ohm’s lead guitar, Tomm Nardi’s rolling, looping bass, and Bob Sharpless explosive drumming. This has to be one of the most aggressive and hardest albums the seventies have ever laid out on record.
