Chalice is a Belgian thrash/death metal band founded back in 1998. And since then, for various reasons people have joined and people have left the band.

All those different line-ups resulted in playing different kinds of metal but there always was adrenaline, aggression, rage and hate. They themselves consider it to be a metal band combining melody, speed and aggression.

Their latest release entitled “There Is Nothing” was recorded mixed and mastered by Tony De Block and was released just last month. And to keep it short, this album makes me feel proud to be from Belgium. It is just that good. They guys deliver what they promise (except the speed part): hate, aggression and melody. Their style can best be compared to bands as Dehtklok, Arch Enemy and At The Gates. The only thing I like the least about this record is the artwork, but that’s just personal taste. This is something you have to listen to.
