The first time I put this in my player, I got smacked to the ground with the first song.  What a fucking noise pollution this is was my first thought.    But things started going a bit better the next songs.

Not that this is an album that I’ll frequently be playing again. For it’s not a bad album, if you’re into US power metal.  But, despite the fact that I have a very wide span of music types I like, this album is not one I digested well. Not that the musicians in this new bad are lacking experience.  With both Ross The Boss and Rhino from ex Manowar, Mike Davis, who played in Halford and Lizzy Borden, Sean Peck from Cage, and finally Stu Marshall who featured in the line up of Dungeon and Empires Of Eden, you’ve got some fine musicians who’ve proven themselves over the year.

But it’s the music that doesn’t do the trick for me.  There are some songs that sound a bit like Manowar, but most of the songs on this album tend more towards Cage stuff.  Another factor that irritates me a bit is the drumwork. It’s probably due to the nature of the songs, but do you always have to try to break a speed record on your drums?  What on the other hand I enjoyed, is the fact that Sean Peck, just like King Diamond sporadically did in his Mercyful Fate period, sings with a very high pitched voice, but luckily enough only sporadically. I really can’t say I didn’t enjoy the album at all, but it’s hard to decide if the pro’s win it from the contra’s.  I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt for this moment.

80/100
