Exactly three years after the well- received Builders of EmpiresDiablo Blvd’ is back with their third full length album: ‘Follow The Dead Lights’.

The release of their album was very important for the band. Therefore they hired producer ‘Jay Ruston’. ‘Jay’ also did the mixing of ‘Stone Sour’s’ previous album ‘House Of Gold And Bones.

The first song (Beyond The Veil) begins with a heavy drum pace and powerfull open chords/ slides then it goes over in dark riffing with guitars. Alex begins with some growling vocals and almost immediately goes over in a softer voice, it alternates between heavy and softer/harmonic singing. The many varied drum parts take the song to a new level. ‘Get Up 9’ sets off on a very fast pace and the band rocks like hell. The title track ‘Follow The Deadlights’ and ‘We Are Legion’ have the most potential to be in the charts if you ask me: great solid and accessible rock ’n roll.

Last year they brought out the singles ‘Peace Won By War’ and ‘Rise Like Lions’ and now they’re also on the album, but they reproduced the songs and it sounds better now. The last song of the album is a bit more calm but therefore not bad at all, they build it up to a great climax and vocalist ‘Alex Agnew’ gives himself for one last time pushing it all out of his throat to end up where it all began. Definitely an album to have in your collection if you’re a metal/ rock fan.
