Embercrows a German band formed in 2004. Line up: Simon (Vocals & Guitars), Marcos (Keys), Robert (Drums) and Stoff (Bass). Playing Melancholic metal and dark rock.
“Blacklight Wanderers” their first official album. A heavy, clean, not aggressive depressive bundle of songs. But I cannot find the body or originality in this album. “Sharing Wounds” a solid number in the beginning but when Simon begins to sing. I miss some firmness in his voice. In the low regions of his voice he miss some steadiness and the long notes are not what I suspected. I don’t say he can’t sing! But practicing can help… “Isle Of Origins” is something else nice raw voice in the middle with nice guitar and keyboard parts.
All by all not a bad first album … well produced and a nice simple artwork.
