Freedoms Reign is the brainchild of ex-Fates Warning guitar player/singer Victor Arduini. The band was born out of Arduini's fervent desire to play melodic power/heavy metal again after 26 years of silence.
Freedoms Reign is a very decent metal album, delivering classic Maiden vs Dio vs Sabbath material while entertaining smatterings of more groovy Pantera-like themes here and there. While the vocals are somewhat lacking in power, the band's versatility is surprising and fresh. I imagine they'll only continue to improve in the future, and l am sure we'll soon see a truly killer album from Victor Arduini & Co..
Any fan of melodic metal who would rather have a solid collection of songs that epitomize the genre rather than innovate upon it should pick up this album.
