Gun Barrel is a German heavy metal band formed in 1998 in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia. Gun Barrel was founded by Guido Feldhausen and Rolf Tanzius and released their first EP Back To Suicide (2000) with the line-up consisting of Guido Feldhausen (vocals), Rolf Tanzius (guitar), Holger Schulz (bass) and Florens Neuheuser (drums). They play traditional/old school heavy metal and they personally call their musical style "Power dive rock 'n' metal". So far they have released five studio albums, Power-Dive (2001), Battle-Tested (2003), Bombard Your Soul (2005), Outlaw Invasion (2008) and Brace For Impact (2012). Rolf Tanzius is currently the only original band member. That means that the current members are: Patrick Sühl (Vocals), Rolf Tanzius (Guitar), Tom "Tomcat" Kintgen (Bass) and Toni Pinciroli (Drums).

Now their album number six “Damage Dancer” start like many cd’s with some musical prequel with some spooky voices and returning drum. And then seamless going over in the realy first song “Damage Dancer” also the title track. Starts with a raw steady guitar riff that holds the song, once the voice of Patrick Sühl start to sing the whole song comes in plays and sound realy rocky with a guitar touch of metal. You can feel the fun when they playing their music. These songs are one by one a toe tapping songs can’t stop it. They taking you on a tour through their world of rock’n’roll metal. The play with Ralf Tanzius (guitar) and Toni Pinciroli is so great that you can’t resist to listen to every detail in the “Judgements day”. Sometimes I hear some Jorn like voice, maybe because the mastering is been done by Tommy Hansen and the miwing by Yenz Leonhardt. Not to forget nice cover from Manfred Jasmund. Worth to listen in this album is “Damage Dancer”, “Judglent Day” and Building A Monster. Buy this record if you like this style of metal!
