The Haunting Presence are a new outfit by Ghastly Apparition, the guy behind the mighty project Nocturnal Blood (FYI: you can find a review undersigned wrote on Devastated Graves – The Morbid Celebration, released as well via Hells Headbangers, which was posted on November 26th 2010; check the Archive-section). Here acting under the artist name THP-SOH, this guy recorded and released some material before under his The Haunting Presence moniker, and at the end on 2014 he released a nameless tape via his own Shaman Of Horrors Offerings-label. Of course Hells Headbangers took the great opportunity to have this stuff pressed on vinyl too.

Six tracks, seventeen minutes of masterly created Morbid / Horror / Grind / Thrash / Death / Doom / Black Metal from the very old skool… This material includes about everything the scene needs: a rough and unpolished yet decent sound, different vocal ranges, fabulous riffing and some weird solos, a majestic and heavily pounding rhythm section (once again I do adore the no-nonsense drum patterns), thrashing and / or noisy leads, enfin, you might get it. The atmosphere is truly beyond the borders of horror and splatter, and every single aspects has been worked out so ingeniously detailed and, therefore, so intelligently (and morbidly) superb! No more words are needed…

For fans of: Nocturnal Blood, Harvest Gulgaltha, Archgoat, Goatlord, Necrophagia, Ævangelist, Ill Omen, Doombringer, Autopsy, Black Witchery, Blasphemy and the likes… …but you did get the bloody picture in mean time, didn’t you???
