Hibria is a Brazilian Metal band that was founded in Porto Alegre, Brazil somewhere during 1996. The band has been growing in Brazil and in the world due to several successful releases recognized both by the media and the audience. Well I have to say I was rather surprised. Because like everyone, when you think about Brazil and metal, you automatically will think “Sepultura”. But the difference between these two bands couldn’t be bigger.
Hibria is more of an old school heavy metal band. You can best describe it as a slightly harder version (but not a better one) of Guns ‘N Roses. And I say that because the frontman’s vocals remind me in some way of Axel Rose. And to be honest, I’m not a big fan of this soft heavy metal band. But they due know how to make good music. In September of 2013, the band will play in Japan for the fifth time to promote their most recent release, Silent Revenge. But it doesn’t end there, the band will play at Rock In Rio, on the same day as Metallica, Alice in Chains, Sepultura, Rob Zombie and Sebastian Bach.
