Hyperdump hail from the north of France and in 2012 the band released their debut full length, called Rational Pain, through Klonosphere as well. A couple of years before, there was a mini-recording too (self-called), but since I haven’t heard that stuff…

Through the very same label, the quartet (WS on vocals, guitar player HolyV, bassist Sly, and drummer Guillaume) now releases a five-tracker, which was recorded at Nowhere Record Studio with producer / engineer / mixer / master Greg. These five songs have duration of about twenty minutes, and apparently they continue the way they went with Rational Pain. The focus lies on technical and experimental Groove material with a huge wink to the likes of Strapping Young Lad, Hacride, Scarred or Gojira, albeit less extreme. From time to time, the band adds elements from Meshuggah, Fear Factory or Machine Head, and even Faith No More / Mr. Bungle at the one hand, and Slipknot at the other, might come to mind more than once. Unfortunately there is rather coherence in between the tracks, and the unstructural chaotics (have you ever seen me being bothered by Chaos or Unstruction?...) do annoy me most of the time. Better next time?...
