I was wondering if this Ivanhoe was the same band as the Ivanhoe  I bought the 1994 album ‘Symbols Of Time’ from.  And indeed it was, although during their 25 years of existence, the ine-up has changed a myriad of times.

I haven’t listened to that 1994 album since quite a few years, so I cannot say if this, only their sixth full album so far, is better or worse.  What is certain is that this is a good album, but not one that will be remembered I’m afraid.  The music this band plays is progressive metal, but not to be compared to bands like Queensrÿche or Dream Theater I’m afraid.  The songs are not bad, but they don’t linger in your head. To sum it up: it was nice listening to this album, they’ve done a good job, but they’re just one of those many bands in this genre.
