Massacre a death metal band from USA, Tampa Florida founded in 1984. The member are Rick Rozz (guitars), Terry Butler (bass), Mike Mazzonetto (drums) and Edwin Webb (vocals). The band has reunited several times with varying line-ups, most recently in late 2011. In 2011, Butler and Rozz reunited for an anniversary tour of From Beyond beginning January 14 in Tampa, Florida.

After 2 studio albums; “From Beyond” (1991) and “Promise” (1996) their third album “Back From Beyond”. First disappointing is the legend Kam lee absent on the album. The opener; “The Ancient Ones” sounds like some opus song with some ruffle of drums. But then hell breaks loose with a fierce drum kick and a great chunky riff from Rozz’s. A majority of the tracks on this 45-minute platter run for around three minutes. Musically, the band are quite comfortable shifting between mid-tempo range (‘Hunter’s Blood’) and sporadic faster segments (‘Sands Of Time’), although for the most part the well-structured songs continue in the same vein with the riffs remaining heavy yet chugging steadily. Diehard fans of Massacre need not worry about this returning beast. But after 20 years to beat “From Beyond” it’s not possible but all by all not a bad album.
