Hailing from the Canadian wasteland known as Edmonton, Mortillery are on a mission to deliver true Thrash Metal. The band started out in October 2008 with Emily Smits on drums, Alex Gutierrez on guitar and Miranda Wolfe on bass. Shortly after Cara McCutchen joined the band after realizing the band was in need of some vocals. James Guiltner was added as a lead guitarist to finish up what was the original line up. Shortly after they parted ways on good terms with James. Alexander Scott then joined the band, and Kevin Gaudet replaced Emily in the line-up in May 2010. About then, they released a self-titled EP.

During February 2011 the band went into the studio to record their first Full-Length "Murder Death Kill" which was first released with Horror Pain Gore Death Productions. March 2012, Mortillery signed to Napalm Records and then released "Murder Death Kill" worldwide. And 2013 was the year of their latest record entitled Origin Of Extinction.

I must say that that latest record actually impressed me a lot. Not knowing them or anything of them thought they were going to be some punk band from seeing the album artwork. So you can’t judge a book by its cover (or a CD in this case). Of course there are some punk influences but this is actually one very fine trash metal record. Led by an amazing female vocalist who can sing and scream and make it sound amazing. Although I have to admit the guitar riffs don’t impress me that much considering all the competition out there. Apart from that, this is awesome.
