Neptrecus was founded by Svarga (formerly known as Mgr H.) somewhere at the beginning of 2011. Claiomh joined the project as vocalist but got resigned and became the lyrics writer. The band's line-up was completed by the end of 2011 when Arawn (guitar), Loki (bass) and Aharon (drums) joined the band. A first self-titled demo was released on 5th December 2011 through French label Mortis Humanae Productions on CD and tape.

Later in 2012, Aharon and Loki were replaced by Lagodas and Morne. Their first album was released on 31st January 2013 through Ancestrale -/Mortis Humanae Productions. In 2013, Morne who left after the band's first concert was replaced by Macabre.

And that album turned out not to bad. I must say that it sounds rather generic, but then again i'm not into black metal so to me it does all sound the same. But as I said, this French black metal band isn't bad at all, apart from the clichés the musicianship is of a high level, as is the production and mixing of the record. So if you are into this genre, it's definitely something you want to go check out.
