Founded in early February 2009 with members from a diverse background of the Perth, Western Australia area, Reapers Riddle made such an impact on the local scene that the launch of their self-titled 10-track demo album caused the venue at which they offered their debut sold out of alcohol by 11pm!

The feat left a positive impression on the local Rock/Metal scene, and captured the attention of several key music industry people, including Adam Weston (of Birds Of Tokyo fame), whom went on to release Reaper's Riddle on his Firestarter distribution label. Although offers came in to promote their demo to a wider public, the band wisely declined, knowing that a next time they could and would come up with a superior recording with better sound/ production quality. And so the band eventually secluded itself into producer Rob Agnostini's Soundbaker Studios , emerging in early January 2011 with the 6-track (7 if you count the intro) EP A Touch Of Death. Following a rabid reception at the launch show, the EP went on to receive rave reviews and radio plays, both at home and elsewhere on the globe.

A couple of line-up changes followed (in fact I'm not quite certain as to what the membership of the band is at the moment – certainly still in the line-up are lead singer Clayton Mitchell, guitarist Michael Willis, bassist Jason Edwards and drummer Wayne Froydma; I am uncertain about the status o guitarist Dan Bishop though), but also a slew of local shows (some at charity and/or community events), several regional tours, and a couple of important support slots, like with Melbourne's The Getaway Plan and America's The Misfits...shows at which the band got a fine reputation for their high-energy theatrical performances. In August of last, the band launched the one-track single Drop, along with their debut music-video which you can still view at (www.) facebook.com/reapersriddle...where you can also listen to some tracks off both the band's previous releases. Now, in trying to describe this band's quite catchy singalong brand of Rock-based Metal music, I kinda thought of early Pantera, but the band itself cites influences/likes from AC/CD, Black Sabbath, Disturbed, Metallica, Dio, Megadeth, Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie...”...Just to name a few...”, which goes to say nothing at all. Best therefore to just listen to some of the band's music!

I tried to log on to the band's own (www.) reapersriddle.com, but was somehow unable to do so! The band also has pages at MySpace and ReverbNation,  but you may have to rely on whatever samples your trusted online sales websites (Amazon for sure) provide their possible customers with to hear some music off the new EP (which is apparently but a prelude to the band's upcoming full-length release, the conceptual The Ballad Of Tristan Daye, to be released in mid-2014). Here's one looking out for the day...
