Rock Ignition are a fairly new band coming from Germany.  Best known member would probably be Jûrgen Steinmetz who played with Headstone Epitaph some 15 years ago.  But if you live in Germany, and are into rock opera’s, the name Heather Shockley also might ring a bell, since she’s performed in shows like ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ and ‘We Will Rock You’, but also did some background vocals for US metal band Kamelot.

This EP is not bad, but it’s balancing on the tin line between pop music, and hard rock.  If you ask me, I’s say is sounds like ‘Shania Twain goes hard rock’.  The band shows that they are able to deliver the goods, it’s just that the goods need to get a bit better before they’re there.

All in all, not a too bad first attempt.  Wait and see what the next album brings us.
