Shakhtyor

Combine Omegamassif plus Entombed plus Pelican plus our own Sardonis plus a Russian name Shakhtyor which means ‘miner’ and you get what? A non-vocal trio from Hamburg, whose 4-track self-titled CD kicks you in the head from the very first moments of the electric opening track “E Jasper”. While I am little bit tiring of the particular sound/sludge post metal that Shakhtyor is playing I can see how these German miners can become a more recognized name in places outside of Hamburg and Germany. In fact, if you are a fan of aforementioned bands then Shakhtyor would fit nicely in your CD collection.
