Melodic death metal / metalcore band Six Reasons to Kill, based in Germany recently released their fifth album “We are Ghosts”.

It is obvious that the band put a lot of time in constructing their songs and building this album. It contains an excellent arrangement of blast beats, breakdowns, tempo variations, melodic parts, lyrical elements and powerful riffs taking their hybrid of aggressive metal and modern hardcore to a higher level.

The Damned” has a good deal of catchy hooks, mainly due to a strong chorus with the main verses a little more aggressive with some of the best blast beats on the record. “We are Ghosts” and “Heartbreaker” contain a few pretty decent breakdowns while “God of the Dead” is a slower track with some great riffs but mainly composed out of breakdowns, which come through pretty heavy, providing a deeper sound due to the slower speed. On “Betrayer” a bit more attention was paid to the technical side of the guitars while “Fucking Hipster” is one of the richest songs due to a faster approach, making it overall more intense. “Unburied Again” showcases the band’s ability to mix melody with heaviness in just the right proportions: Rhythm guitars, various breakdowns combined with emotional leads in the chorus make it a memorable song.

If you’re a longtime fan of Six Reasons to Kill, “We are Ghosts” isn’t that far off from what you might expect. The band certainly created an overall enjoyable decent new metalcore album worth listening to.
