Soulfly is an American and Brazilian based metal band formed in 1997 and is led by former Sepultura guitarist and front man, the one and only legendary Max Cavalera, who created the band after Sepultura splitted in 1996. Since than, the band has gone through numerous line-up changes, but the current line-up has been stable since 2004’s album “Prophecy” and consists of Max Cavalera, Marc Rizzo, Bobby Burns and Joe Nunez. But for his latest creation, he mixed it up again and Max got Tony Campos for bass and David Kinkade on drums.

Typical about the band is that, they incorporate many styles of metal with Brazilian tribal and world music, but this can be found in other projects from Max Like Cavalera Conspiracy. But like always, he tried to be more brutal and darker then ever before. Although this album is more punk orientated than the previous.

And after so many albums and other projects, Max still knows how to surprise people in a good way. Like always, each track is more brutal that the previous and are all filled with simple (but powerful) rhythms and face melting leads by Marc Rizzo. Brutal killer drums and bass tracks finished off with the seasoned harsh vocals of Max. Awesome, brilliant and killer are the only words that come to my mind and make me one happy metal fan
