To say this album contains some of the best Dio songs would be an understatement. ‘Stand Up And Shout’, ‘Don’t Talk To Strangers’, ‘Holy Diver’ to name but a few of his own songs. Besides those there are also Black Sabbath covers, like ‘The Mob Rules’, ‘Children Of The Sea’, and finally also a Rainbow cover ‘Man On The Silver Mountain’. This is, of course, no more than logical, since Ronnie has been the frontman in all of those bands.
Hard to deny that, with the death of Ronnie James Dio on May 16, 2010 due to stomach cancer, one of the better singers in Heavy Metal music was brutally taken from that scene. A gap perhaps most badly felt by those who dealt with the man in daily life, as he was probably also one of the kinder people around!
Edited soundtrack of the video filmed in 2006, at Philadelphia's Spectrum venue, when the band Dio was out on a two-year trek in promotion of their 1995 and third album Sacred Heart. First recorded appearance with guitarist Craig Goldy (whom had recently before replaced original guitarist Vivian Campbell), it includes songs of Dio (the band) 's first 3 albums, as well as material of Ronnie's days with Rainbow and Black Sabbath.
