One of Mother Earth’s most eerie Doom acts is this two-piece, The Body, consisting of Lee Buford and Chip King. Again the duo recorded its new material at Machines With Magnets, and additional vocal contribution was provided by e.g. Reba Mitchell (Whore Paint), Otesanek’s Leslie Weitz, and Chrissy Wolpert (of Assembly Of Light Choir).

Master, We Perish opens with The Ebb And Flow Of Tides In A Sea Of Ash, which opens with warning sirens, very soon supported by the noisy approach this duo is known for. Distorted and droning guitars, massive drum patterns, haunting bass lines and hysterical screams, a sound as sick as an industrial explosion, indeed a perfect opener to this mini-recording. The Blessed Lay Down And Writhe In Agony starts somewhat eerie-atmospherical, with droning semi-acoustics and fairylike choirs, but the second half of the song stands for a majestic mixture of Drone, Sludge and Doom with a mostly industrialised sound. The final track, Worship, with its lengthy duration (close to ten minutes), is a mostly chaotic and, at the same time, well-structured Psycho-Grinding hymn, an aural expression of Artistic Terror in a mostly open-minded sense.

A painful experience to wrestle through, but adorable if you’re of the masochistic, or sadistic, kind (misanthropy can be helpful as well)…
