Unpleasantries Abundant is a new digital release by the very productive Bukowski Family (say hi to Fats, Piggy, Mimi, Wiktor, Frank and Roman Bukowski), constructors of some rude EP’s (Bukowski Family, Dig Your Own Grave, Initiation) and contributors to a handful of samplers (compilations released via Torn Flesh Records especially). The material does not differ from most past efforts, for Unpleasantries Abundant also brings a blasting form of Grindcore-laden Death Metal (or is it Death Metal-influenced Grindcore?), including the lyrics that, of course, still deal with perversion, cannibalism, genocide, torture, massacre and other sick pleasures - nastiness in general. Most important differences with the past are the more professional production / sound, and the increased cohesion in between the songs. The technical execution is of a very high quality (going for both song composing as well as effective performance), and the newly created experiment, though limited, is just lovely. Listen for example to that Doom-Death Monster Fountain Of Woe.

I haven’t heard all past releases by Bukowski Family, but Unpleasantries Abundant might be the most convincing effort to date. I for sure am positively surprised!
