Already the fifth studio album for this Norwegian band, but I admit never before having heard of them, I guess the stream of bands/albums etc. is just getting too big to be able to follow them all.  I got a bit scared when I put this album on, and it started with some flamenco guitar and handclap, but that was just the intro.

The second song immediately kicks of with some frantic drumming, followed by screaming guitars, tha bass guitar also kicks in, and then you hear the first vocals.  While the info described the music this band plays as progressive power metal, I find that description not quite right.  They have indeed a progressive power metal sound, but it seems there has also been some influence from trash metal.

Now as you all will know saying that I’m not that big a fan of trash metal is a bit of un understatement, but on this album the mix is picture perfect.  I found this a very good album almost from start to finish, and besides the intro all songs are very powerful, well thought about songs, with each instrument falling perfectly into place to form memento us songs.

94/100
