With Munich, Germany as its home base, one should not confuse this Eternal Torture for the other band going by that name, which is from Belo Horizonte in Brazil, and thus far released two demos displaying Death Metal music.

The quintet from Germany, whose current line-up comprises lead singer Andi Brecht (currently also active with Forsaken, and formerly of Amdusias – he replaced the band's original guitarist/ rhythm guitarist Konrad Schallenberger in 2011, the latter leaving due to professional reasons), rhythm guitarist Matthias Erber (replaced rhythm guitarist Marco Lex in 2013, whom replaced Alex Artes in 2012, whom took over rhythm guitar duties in 2011), and original members Matthias Trippelsdorf (lead guitar), Andreas Pape (bass & backing vocals), and Alex Neuberger (drums) was originally founded in 2008, and started off its career as a foursome playing Melodic Death Metal, and soon after its formation recorded the 6-track demo-EP Anthtropogenic (released in January 2009). In 2010 the guys changed their style to include Death Metal, DeathCore, MetalCore, and a slight touch of Thrash Metal. In early 2011, the quartet recorded its debut full-length album Dissanity, which was released worldwide in July 2012 through Austrian's Thunderblast Records.

That same summer, the original singer left, to be replaced by a new singer and additional rhythm guitarist (the latter to be exchanged twice before the current line-up was achieved). Obviously, the several line-up changes have put somewhat of a halt on the band's progression, as it always takes sóme time to have new people learn the music before a band can go out and play in promotion on its material. But perhaps the delays also worked in the band's favor? I'm afraid I have to admit I wasn't able to check any of the band's older songs (posted at (http://) soundcloud.com/eternal-torture), so I cannot really compare, but every song the band brings on the new album is an instant winner! Has there been a further development in the band's sound? What I hear is an exhilarating mixture of catchy Deathcore (which is also very melodic, in spite of the overall heaviness of the music) with Dubstep elements...not in an equal amount in each song, of course, and that only enhances the band's musical variety. Also nice, is that the lead singer's relatively high-pitched growls are frequently complimented by the bassist's screeches.

At the band's facebook page (www.) facebook.com/EternalTorture, you'll not only find a link to the SoundCloud page mentioned earlier, but also to the band's MySpace and YouTube (the latter displaying several videos with footage of the new album's studio recordings). Check it out, and be entranced by what this band offers!
