This DVD, goes way back to when I was still running around in short pants, in other words, it’s from another century.  To be exact, this recording goes back to 1973.

I’m not sure why a review of this DVD should be put on Concrete Web, as Frank Zappa’s music is not really rock.  He may be using the same instruments as a rock band, but the music he makes has countless influences, like jazz, and if there is one music genre I hate, it’s jazz.  There are of course hints of rock in his music as well, but I think it’s far fetched if you’d call this rock.  I haven’t been able to look at this DVD from start to finish, but some musical parts I did like, others I didn’t. Why it took so long to bring out this movie ?  Well, despite the show(s) being filmed from various angles with multiple camera’s apparently there were some technical problems.  I guess Zappa fans have been eagerly awaiting this release, but I don’t belong to them.  The master himself has gone since over 20 years, so he won’t see this footage, but if the fans want to buy it, who am I to forbid them.
