I have to admit that I was not that eager to listen to this album, if only because of the band’s name, The Hell. I did actually expect some infantile would-be act with more ego than writing capabilities. Yet seen the label(s) involved, this could be something quite different as well. The choice of those labels releasing an album by a band called this way, would it prove me wrong? Darzamadicus Records, Morbid Shrine Productions and, especially, Satanath Records are quite ‘intelligent’ and open-minded, so maybe this stupid moniker isn’t but a mistake (in my head)?
Well, actually this five-piece from Serbia consists of some members that were in notorious acts such as Consecration, Awaiting Fear or Rain Delay. So, maybe this could show some professionalism in one way or another…
Actually, the album consists of about forty minutes of rather convincing Death Metal with quite some influences drawn from the USDM-scene. And you know, despite the lack or originality (there really is nothing renewing at all, on the contrary), this stuff is quite attractive. The scenes from Poland, Sweden, Germany, Holland, the UK and, especially, as said before, the U.S. have been of influence to create this kind of somewhat technically high-profiled, mainly fast and both rhythmic and melodic Death Metal. The whole comes with a timeless execution, which includes both old schooled elements as well as some modernistic details, and the sound quality is truly of a high level. Besides, there is quite a huge dose of blaspheme and blackened nastiness that characterises this band’s sound, and who is undersigned not to appreciate this detail?... Indeed, it’s my pleasure, you’re welcome…
Deicide, Morpheus Descends, Sinister, Bolt Thrower, Nile, Vomitory or Abysmal Dawn, and tens of other references might occur…
