The Miami-based band Orbweaver was formed in 2010 by e.g. ex-Hate Eternal / Gigan’s Randy Piro. There was a nameless demo before this release, and since then the line-up did change somewhat. But in mean time, vocalist / guitarist Randy started working with some experienced musicians, amongst whom Sally Gates, a colleague in Gigan, as lead guitar player, to have this five-tracker perfected for our ear drums’ pleasure. The material was recorded at the Pinecrust Studio with Torche’s Jonathan Nunez, and mix plus mastering were done with Brian Elliot at the famous Mana Recording Studio (think: Vital Remains, Hate Eternal, Cannibal Corpse, Paths Of Possession, Exhumed, The Funeral Pyre etc.).

Strange Transmissions From The Neuralnomicon (what’s in a name) is a weird, eccentric, eclectic, psychotic and experimental mixture of different genres: Death and Black Metal, Noise, Post-Metal, Jazz, Prog-Rock, Grindcore, Crust, Blast and so on. It’s a dissonant trip in the vein of earlier Extol or Ephel Duath, or a mixture of Gorguts and The Dillinger Escape Plan, mixed with elements from Painkiller, Anaal Nathrakh, Stagnant Waters, Coso, Psyopus, Necrophagist, Wormed, Gigan and this kind of sonic nonsense.

Hyper-Psychedelica transformed into twitchy noises of extremity, but of an ingenious kind, that’s a possible definition of Strange Transmissions From The Neuralnomicon… Not for the weak-hearted!

The band will release the CD-edition of this EP itself, Primitive Violence will take care of the tape-version, which is limited to 100 copies only.
