After leaving Accept, and forming his own band U.D.O. mister Dirkschneider has kept on releasing album after album, sticking to it’s musical Accept roots so to speak.

Is this bad? I don’t think so.  After all some other great bands also release album after album, without really changing their style, think Motörhead for instance, or even Iron Maiden. So once again with this new album ‘SteelhammerUdo presents us some old school German heavy metal. Yes, we’ve all heard it before, so what ?  At least you know you’re going to get some quality, without experimentation. The guitars on the album were all played by new addition  Andrey Smirnov, but since they’ve added Kasperi Heikkinnen (ex Amberian Dawn) to the band’s line-up.

The only noticeable difference on this album, is that Udo sings a track in Spanish, ‘Basta Ya’, an anthemic song, but sadly enough my Spanish has become so rusty that I can’t make much of the lyrics.
