Quintet Vikingore hail from Seville, Spain, and are now debuting with Wolves In The Battlefront (in 2010 there was a self-produced and self-called demo), which brings a fantastic mixture of somewhat early nineties-oriented Death Metal, Scandinavian-inspired Viking / Black Metal and a handful of modern experiments. The band varies a lot in between aggression and melody, in between energy and integrity, in between tradition and progression. At first it might seem a challenge to get through, yet after a while this voyage through past and future is a unique adventure with new discoveries and hidden treasures time after time. I read about comparisons with Amon Amarth, and for a part I might admit that Vikingore can be considered the Spanish edition of those Swedes, even though different as well. But for sure an imminent comparison it is…
Recorded at the Austrian Noisehead Studios with Mario Jezik (Relinquished, Pain Is, Nigromantia, Violent Eve etc.).
