Stryper an oldschool Christian Heavy Metal / Hard Rock band founded in Orange County, California in 1983. Stryper stands for "Salvation Through Redemption Yielding Peace, Encouragement and Righteousness". The Isaiah 53:5 under their logo is the Bible verse that states "by His stripes we are healed." Current members are: Michael Sweet: Lead vocals, guitar - Oz Fox: Vocals, guitars - Tim Gaines: Bass, vocals - Robert Sweet: drums.

X-Drive

Despite having some well known musicians in their ranks, this new project started by unknown guitarist Jeremy Brunner, and having enlisted the aid of Andy Johns for the production, I’m afraid this album is rather disappointing.

Adrenaline Rush

Adrenaline Rush is a female fronted band, who’s front woman Tave Wanning used to be a part of the Teen-Pop duo Peaches. I don’t know how Peaches sounded, but let’s just say that this girl might have the looks of a peach, but her voice is of another caliber.  Strong, clear, despite her young age (she was born in 1992).

State Of Salazar

After releasing an EP in 2012, these Swedes now return with a full album.  I guess for anyone who loves AOR music with it’s roots in the eighties, this album could turn out to be a real gem.  To start with the vocalist Marcus Nygren immediately made me think of Bobby Kimball.  The music this band brings sounds a bit like a mix between Toto and Survivor, with maybe a hint of Journey thrown in as well.

Ted Nugent

Ted Nugent, American to the bitter end, the personification of the redneck, conservative to the bone, an advocate of hunting and gun ownership, anti drugs and anti alcohol, strictly catholic…  Much can be said about this man, besides his musical skills. He became known as lead guitarist of the Amboy Dukes in the sixties, before embarking on a solo career in the seventies.

Various Artists: Frontiers Rock Festival – The Compilation

This Frontiers Compilation offers you a choice of 14 tracks from different Frontiers signed bands of projects.  Among them the fantastic and already well known W.E.T., but also I.R.S., and some as yet undiscovered gems like Moon Land. If you want to have a sample of the quality bands that Frontiers Records have to offer – as if you didn’t know that already – then you should at least by this compilation, discover some of their bands, and subsequently buy some of the full albums, of which you were given a taste.

Neal Schön

Neal Schön, founding member and lead guitarist of Journey (and as a matter of fact also the only musician that’s been in Journey from their beginnings up to now), but who has plucked the chords in Bad English and even in Santana, has teemed up with fellow Journey bandmate Deen Castronovo, and bass player Marco Mendoza (Ted Nugent, Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy) to record this album.
